Lingerie: autumn winter 2021 trends
Oh yes, just like ready-to-wear fashion, lingerie also goes through different trend cycles. What will be the lingerie trends this autumn winter 2021?
The world of lingerie is as vast as that of clothing and influences ready-to-wear fashion and Couture every year. Chanel's latest Haute Couture autumn winter 2021 collection designed by Virginie Viard was clearly inspired by lingerie. Virginie presented a couture version of the lingerie with four babydoll creations. Babydoll in peony pink and pastel green, side and waist bows, the bedroom design becomes an evening dress thanks to the sinuous cuts and fashion details.
As you well know, lingerie fascinates me, as it is an item of clothing that practically everyone wears but which is still not talked about enough. It's not necessarily taboo, but because it's rarely seen, it's not discussed.
Especially for us women, lingerie is very important because choosing the right lingerie is good for our self-esteem and can make us feel happier.
Feeling good in your lingerie is key, regardless of whether anyone else can see it or not.
Today, unfortunately, for some people lingerie is still something attributable to the sexual sphere, something that must be seen by the partner in the bedroom. A garment that is only meant to be worn for someone else but isn't. Of course, if our partner also likes it, well, so much the better, but that's not the goal!
But let's go back to the fashion trends regarding lingerie, the autumn winter 2021 trends. Are you curious?
Let's get started right away…
- Thong and high-waisted briefs: the trend is evocative of the top models of the 80s/90s, the aerobics lessons of Cindy Crawford and Jane Fonda. It ties in with the athleisure trend but gives it a sexy twist, which we love in the world of lingerie.
I think the changes we're seeing have a lot to do with evolving clothing trends. Nowadays trousers and skirts are almost always high-waisted and having a high-waisted bottom makes more sense with this silhouette.
- Demi cup bra: the half cup bra is particularly suitable for those with small breasts. The low-cut shape and underwire give the breasts extraordinary volume and a push-up effect.
- Velvet lingerie: elegant and soft, velvet makes any outfit luxurious. Furthermore, velvet bodysuits and bralettes are also perfect for going out, perhaps combined with nice jeans or palazzo trousers. And a jacket to complete the look!
- Black lingerie: Classic black is always a good choice and suits both light and dark skin tones, and is always elegant and versatile.
- Lace lingerie: Lace underwear cannot be missing from our wardrobe because it is sexy, elegant and always in fashion!
- Basic lingerie: never before has it been necessary to wear comfortable underwear more than in this period. And basic underwear is now a real trend.
These are seamless garments, without underwires or other constructions. Basic shapes and natural fabrics perfect for everyday wear. The most trendy shades are nude, "skin" effect or black.
