Bridal underwear: which lingerie to choose
Hello future brides! I know many of you have had to postpone your wedding due to Covid-19 but I'm sure that this wait will make the Big Day even more exciting and special!
Now more than ever we need to take care of ourselves and also give ourselves some gifts, or suggest them to someone!
And you could start choosing the lingerie you will wear on the wedding day and the wedding night, and the one to wear on your honeymoon.
I got married in September last year and I had a lot of fun buying lots of underwear sets, babydolls and slips.
The choice of wedding underwear is very important and is now a tradition as well as one of everyone's favorite moments. The proposals are numerous and very varied, white is almost always preferred, but ivory and pink can also be valid alternatives.
Lace bridal lingerie remains an elegant and chic classic, but invisible seamless or shaping garments can also be a good choice if the dress is very tight and low-cut.
For the honeymoon, however, I also recommend brighter colors and black which is always an elegant must have!
I suggest some well-known brands and others less well-known in Italy but equally interesting, to keep an eye on when choosing your bridal underwear. I hope it's useful to you, here they are:
- Intimissimi has a line dedicated exclusively to the bride, bras, slips, babydolls, bodysuits, slips, garters. They are quite basic, no "wow" effect in my opinion, but they are quite elegant and practical.
- Chantelle, a French brand that is also widely sold in Italy and around the world, like Intimissimi dedicates a section of its website to the bridal line.
- Yamamay also has a line for brides and offers a wide choice of more basic products including shapewear, dressing gowns and slips.
- Oysho does not have a line dedicated to brides, but it has many beautiful outfits and elegant petticoats in soft or more colorful colours.
- La Perla for those with a higher budget, is the Italian underwear brand known throughout the world for its luxury collections, in silk, embroidered tulle and Leavers lace, romantic and sinuous, with a transparent veil and finished with a wave. La Perla also has a line dedicated to brides and offers romantic and elegant garments.
- Gilda & Pearl offers brides a selection of very particular and chic products, I recommend you take a look at the official website!
- ID Sarrieri also has a collection, sexy in lace, dedicated to brides.
- Fleur du Mal doesn't have a line dedicated to brides, but it has many beautiful alternatives in white and nude. Sexy and retro style, it is one of my favorite brands. I purchased a beautiful pink silk and black lace babydoll so chic that I would wear it to go out!
- Kiki de Montparnasse offers brides a sophisticated line in silk and lace, babydolls, intimate sets, slips, kimonos and accessories... very sexy!
- Wonderbra, a historic American brand of push up bras, offers a vast choice of models so you can choose the shape that best suits your dress.
- Hunkemoller is a low-cost lingerie and swimwear brand that has recently become trendy. The testimonial of the latest campaign is the famous Victoria's Secret top model Doutzen Kroes. The brand offers many alternatives to brides: interesting, economical and fashionable. Bras, panties, babydolls, kimonos, hold-ups and so on.
- For Love and Lemons is a clothing brand from Los Angeles that has a very sophisticated and feminine line of lingerie. This year she dedicated a capsule collection to brides, collaborating with Victoria's Secret!
- For more practical and sporty girls, I also recommend Triumph and Calvin Klein Underwear which offer valid alternatives of bras and panties for brides.
