It's actually just a cute way to refer to comfortable cotton panties, generally high-waisted and in white.
The stereotype of the grandmother who only wears a certain style of underwear has led fashion and women to move away from this type of underwear. Although to be honest, I personally find it very sexy when worn a certain way.
Since everyone has been spending a lot more time at home these days, Instagram content has changed a lot. The It girls of the moment have gone from a super fashionable streetstyle look to an equally fashionable home look, with lots of style advice on loungewear.
One of the home outfits I was particularly interested in is the simplest one, which requires only two items: a tank top and cotton panties. High waist, mostly high-cut, sometimes finished in lace or with a gathered elastic, with a little flower or bow on the front or super basic.
